The Walker range of rods were named after the original company founder, Mr Ken Walker. Together with his son-in-law, Brian Potter, they designed and collaborated, this new range of rods. Sadly, we knew that this would probably be their last joint collaboration. Ken passed away in 2015. The original Walker rods that he designed were always our most popular and best selling models of their day. We wanted to get back to that traditional, Spey casting, perfecting the art of delicate presentation of the fly and Spey casting technique,. It is wonderful to see that all our selected Scottish ghillies have fallen in love with the Walker rods. Slow down the casting and let the rod do the work for you. It is perfect for the “lazy” fisherman – and Ken will readily admit he was a lazy fisherman! – you must relax and let the rod do all the work. You can then fish all day with ease. It doesn’t matter about the weight of a rod – as long as it has the right balance and power, the weight of it is totally irrelevant. Quite a few ghillies enjoy the 16’6” because it is a forgiving rod and you can feel everything through to the handle – likewise the 14’6”. But the powerhouse of the trio is the 15’6” model.

Standard Specification
As standard, the Walker rods are finished in classic olive green, with deep olive green whipping or matching classic olive green whipping. (Please state your preference when ordering). There is a hint of subtle gold tipping at the ends of joints only. Each rod has two SIC butt rings as standard, and an SIC tip ring. They are fitted with a superior , pale, Champagne gold (Nickel Silver) reel seat, with cork spacer, and matching Champagne gold / Nickel Silver end cap and button. As a final flourish, the rods are complemented with a handmade cotton drill rod bag in green. Each rod has silver, hand crafted ferrule stoppers.
