How we handle repairs, and what we ask of you before sending a rod to us.
Please contact us before sending any rod for repair — by our repair enquiry form, email, or phone — with:
We'll confirm receipt of your enquiry, give you an initial assessment, and let you know whether to proceed before you post anything.
Rods received without prior contact cannot be worked on immediately. We'll hold the rod and attempt to identify the sender, but this causes delay, and we can't be responsible for turnaround time or the condition of an unidentified or unaccompanied item while it sits pending contact. If a rod remains unidentified after one year, we reserve the right to dispose of it.
We repair Bruce & Walker rods as standard. We may, at our discretion, repair rods from other makers, but this isn't guaranteed and is assessed case by case — please describe the make and issue when you contact us, and we'll let you know if it's something we can take on.
Every repair is inspected before work begins. We determine the cause and extent of the damage ourselves before quoting — we don't commit to a repair, or a price, sight unseen. Once we've assessed the rod, we'll confirm:
Work only begins once you've approved the quote.
We reserve the right to decline any repair. This most commonly applies where:
Where we decline a repair, we'll explain why, and return the rod at the customer's cost.
Please package rods securely — a broken section arriving further damaged in transit only complicates the repair. We're not responsible for damage in transit to us; we'd recommend using a tracked, insured service for anything of value.
